Wildflowers (Australian Heritage Needlework)

The beauty of wildflowers has fascinated needleworkers from early days. Here is an abundance of them, worked in the many techniques favoured in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Surface embroidery, cutwork, Mountmellick, canvaswork, cross stitch, and some distinctively textured styles all appear here, used on cushion covers, tablecloths, clothing, and pictures. There are projects to work on based on historical originals.
